This is a list of practical issues you need to know to make a good “kick-off” at EUSS: 1. Registering at EUSS
If you are going to follow regular Engineering courses at EUSS, you need to register upon arrival at the school Academic Office. Please, bring a personal identification card with you (Passport or similar) and 2 photos.
As EUSS student, you will get:
- A registering number (“Número de Matrícula”)
- A NIU number: necessary to get a Library card.
- The EUSS agenda: includes practical academic information such as location of classrooms and labs, exams calender, scheduled seminars etc.
2. Access to Intranet
To have access to the EUSS intranet you will need a personal username and password. The EUSS responsible for Information Technology (sic@euss.es) will provide them, once you have a registering number.
The EUSS has a large WIFI Area. In additional, you will have free access to Internet connected computers at some designed labs.
3. EUSSTERNET
EUSSTERNET is the EUSS “virtual” university, built up on the learning software package called “Moodle”. Most subjects have a virtual course at EUSSTERNET. You will find a lot of learning material there; sometimes you will be required to deliver works or tests using the EUSSTERNET too.
This is what you have to do to access EUSS virtual courses:
- Browse on internet to: http://academic.euss.es
- Fill in your personal username and password (you will get them from the information technology responsible upon arrival).
- The first time you enter EUSSTERNET, you will have to fill in your profile data.
- Browse to the course of your interest, just like you do on Internet.
- To register on a particular course, you will need a course password that you will receive from your teacher.
4. Library card
The EUSS library is open from 9:00 to 20:00 every day of the week. You can borrow up to x books during x days presenting your Library Card.
The EUSS responsible for Information Technology (sic@euss.es) will give you the Library Card, once you have registered and have a NIU number.
5. CAEUSS
EUSS students are organised in the “brotherhood” called CAEUSS. It may be a good idea to contact them, as they usually organise attractive extra-academic activities. The CAEUSS room is located on the ground floor, at your left hand as you access the main stairs.
6. Canteen
The EUSS has a bar and canteen open from 8:00 to 19:15, where you can eat daily for a reasonable price. You may bring your own lunch as well.
